feet, and the smell of success

so the bammer is out of commission for the month. she had her widdle footy surgerated on and now she's stuck in bed for the remainder of the month. i get to take care of her, feed her, prop up her foot, sit her up, lay her down, and generally help out. she's doing alright, random bouts of strange pain followed by steep relief from the pain pills she was given by ze doktor. she needs some visitors, for i think my simple little face may be driving her a we bit nutty.
in other news, i will be attending the FANTOMAS show at the fillmore! yay! i have yet to see a big show here in sf. and i've never been to the fillmore. so fun all around. other than that the new apartment is still RAD! loving it out in the east bay. quiet, chill, there's a comic shop 2 blocks away... need i say more?
anywho, on to the wonders of loss prevention. shoplifters beware.

ink, birthdays, and rock and fucking roll!

okay. bammer just got a new tattoo the other day, and now i am freaking out. FREAKING. i really really want some new ink, but my ass is poor. i got bills to pay. there are a couple of guys i know who are tattoo artists without shops, so i may try to go that route. i did it before and i'm sure i'll do it again. ol' blue and i have decided to make it our tradition for birthdays to get each other ink. since its something we both love, and it will never really let you down, as presents go. it all started when she told me to not be suprised if she drags me into a tattoo shop for my b-day. so i got the idea to get her some ink, and it all fell into place from there. i'm not sure what i'm getting next, if i wait till my b-day(yeah..., right.) i'll start the BIG 'UN. a back piece for the top half of my back, if i don't wait i'll probably go for the elder sign. if you have to ask, you don't know me very well... unless of course a certain artist i happen to know and love gets around to drawing that rad zombie i have been waiting as patiently as humanly possible for...
in other news, the newest Queens Of The Stone Age album is fricken amazing! goodbye annoying bassist who sang crap songs, hello sweet desert rock. Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top is on the freaking thing, how can you go wrong with that!? i'm starting to think this may be a good year for music. lots of great stuff so far.
bammer and i are getting along swimmingly. the apartment is rad! we work pretty goddamn well together. see, she's a librarian, and has a thing for catalogging and putting everything in order. so she'll randomly go through bookshelves and movie stacks and cd stacks and just put them all in her weird, dewey decimal system maligned, HAL from 2001, "a place for everything and everything in its place" order. she's gone through my cd's twice now, and we've only been there for three weeks. it's great cause she likes doing it, and i've got LOADS of crap for her to cycle through. just you wait till she starts on my comics... heh. i love it.
ooh! and a big congrats to SARA! happy grad, baby. smootches, sorry i missed your call. talk to you soon!
and happy friggen birthday to KATIE! thats champion juicer if you didn't know. send her big love for her b-day, cause you know you goddamn well love her. i do.
hasta lafawnduh!

artistic or autistic...

alright, i know i've been a little schmoopy lately, with all the cutsey crap, but hey i got a really cool chick, so kiss my ass.
frank kozik was in the store today, signing a big ass book of rock posters. there were other artists and the writers of said book, but the only one i knew or gave a shit about seeing was kozik. his posters are ill, and he's a big ol' artiste'. it was weird cause i could tell he didn't really want to be here. he just sat in the back, and moped around for the most part. it was still neat-o to see him and get a poster signed. even if he was bored. i always say only boring people get bored. but that would mean kozik is boring... who knows.
the apartment is RAD! good times and great oldies. quiet, chill, my games and movies and cd's are there. it doesn't smell. i'm bringing a big ass bag of my books there tonight. i get done at 11. i have to ride the bart and walk a 25 minute walk home. i don't really mind at all. cause now i'll have even more reading material there. see, being the HUGE dork that i am, i reread most of my books, mostly comics, all the time. so's i can quote them at the most opportune times. WHAT A DORK!!!!! i quote comic books, people. and star wars, but so does bammer, and she's hot and sleeps with me, so she is excluded from dorkdom... NOT!
more on my wonderful girlfriends dork-osity when we meet again. mind of a 14 year old boy. love it.

bammers b-day.

birthdays... today is the lovely and talented BAMMERS b-day, so y'all should get a big huggy type happy birthday message to her. she's 29 and lovely as ever. if you didn't know, love-knife is the link at the sidebar to her own special blog, check it out.
moved into the new apartment this weekend. it is heaven. quiet, calm, and she's there. so you can see how pleased i am to be there also. oakland is not as bad as the rumors persist. i live in piedmont, which is an amazing neighborhood. and theres a comic shop down the street! just a few more essentials, like a couch, and we'll be set. so anyone not in the city, come visit us! i miss you guys.
word to your mothers...

rollin' deep in oaktown...

well, it's official. i'm moving to the east bay. oakland. and before you get all too short on me, its piedmont, a really nice neighborhood. i'm moving in with bammer. we're nervous and excited. i can't wait to get out of the middle of downtown sf. i love this town, but walking through piss stinking streets and getting harrassed for change is not what i want to be doing first thing in the morning. that can wait until AFTER the bart ride.
the deposit is paid, and we'll start the big move near the first of the month. a nice big 2 bedroom apartment. lots of space. bammer's pretty much a minimalist, and i've got lots of useless crap. think-bookshelves. lots and lots of bookshelves. i've still got 50 bucks at ikea(thanks mom!) so we won't be hurting for a couch. its a big step, but we're short people, so i think we'll be alright. i'll get the specifics to you kids when next we speak.
love ya!

2.09.2005

doh!

okay. i just found the new mike patton/x-ecutioners album, AND the new sage francis album. guh. i'm gonna freak out. so much good shit in the world, and all for me. i will be geeking on these for a while. gotta go.

drugs are bad...

i have about 33 minutes left on the clock here at the megastore, and i'm trying to be patient, but i really want to get the hell out of here. i've been dealing with the same cracked out hobo's for the last 7 hours. they are beginning to get to me. the giggler, who sat outside the store panhandling and bugging customers directly as they walked out the door, the old drunk skinny guy who can't seem to keep himself upright, drooling and sleeping in the middle of the sidewalk, and of course Cracky McToothless, the wonder crack-head. she almost has a tooth... almost. she also has a big crush on my boss, the LP manager. he helps escort her out, and she offers him the money from her shoe, and then gets him a dollar ice cream cone from mcdonalds. now thats crack-head love. all i want to do is go home and cuddle. but of course, i have to work at the club tonight, which means i get to deal with drunken e-tards. thats people high on ecstacy, mom. so that'll be a good night for all. at least the e-tards pay to get into the club, so they try to be nice, and not get kicked out. yay. anyway, life out here on the coast is good, productive, and weather wise very nice. calm and chill. not too cold, not too hot. middling. i like that word... smootches from the edge of the continent.

1.26.2005

her

i am thrown.
i am spinning.
i never knew. i always hoped, but i never was sure. i am sure now. it all makes sense. it is pure. i'll write more when my head clears. right now i'll just sit and think of her. it's all i do anymore. i enjoy it.

1.25.2005

girlfriend

that is a great word.

1.18.2005

big eyes...

well, i watched the AKIRA special edition dvd last night. well, part of it anyway. what crap. the voices were redone with horrible, stereotypical can of american twangs, and they removed any semblance of dialogue from the characters. all the little things, the heavy breaths, the short bursts, simple words like damn, and shit. its one of the things i really loved about the original, THEY SWORE LIKE REAL PEOPLE! they sounded serious. they sounded like normal people stuck in abnormal situations. they sounded stressed. whoever did the voices this time around was only worried about timing, cause it sounded like shit. there was no care put into the acting, just the tech crap. lowest common denominator bullshit. i hate when people have to fuck up perfection attempting to make a bigger buck.
maybe i'm just being tender, but that film is a part of my foundation of japanese and to a large extent, world animation. it's one of the films that showed me what cartoons could do. what they could BE. on the topic, but off the bitching... i'm gonna try to go see APPLESEED next week. masamune shiro, other than his strtange and uncomfortable fixation with close ups of womens underwear, is an amazing artist and writer. if you don't agree then all i have is... ghost in the shell, black magic-M66, and kiss my ass, loser... if you could see the face i'm making, you'd be crying.
and now a list of five things that suprised me lately:
1. the electric 6 album. thought it'd just be kitschy, but it really is good. and fun.
2. vh1's surreal life. shoot me now. mini-me is a drunken freak. i am terrified.
3. luis-one of the associates at virgin megastore. this kid can fuck up a game of chess. he kills. amazing.
4. skittles. i can't keep them out of my face. i'm like a freaking junkie. every time i spit it looks like pieces of organs coming out. yum.
5. bammer. she's going through so much killing stress right now. there is a light, baby. just a little further. too tough to die. part animal, part machine. rise above.
okey-dokey, enough for now. answer me one question: where do you want to be 5 years from now?
love.

1.06.2005

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

you see, this is what happens when the boss is out for the day. absolutely nothing. we are on chill mode. i had to close the store last night and i opend today, so i'm SLACKING OFF. K.M.A.(<---that means "kiss my ass"...)
i noticed something that is really starting to bother me, string tribute albums. when Apocalyptica came out, i was heavily impressed. four cellos doing classic Metallica songs... good stuff. then there was a Tool string tribute, and although i haven't listened to it, i thought it might at least be interesting. now there is a fucking string tribute album out for any putz with a distortion pedal. i have seen a White Stripes string tribute, a Queens of the Stone Age string tribute, and a Warren Zevon string tribute. okay, okay, i guess the Warren Zevon one isn't so far fetched, but White Stripes? come on. lets get over ourselves a bit, please. does every schmuck with a viola deserve studio time? i don't think so. can we try to do something creative and unique, or are we just going to recycle all the crap until we burn ourselves off the planet...
gonna go see White Noise on friday. looks cool. i like ghosts.
been listening to Cowboys From Hell by Pantera lately. i miss D.D. he was a pretty damn good guitarist.
okay, i gotta go get a nap going. werk werk werk.

1.04.2005

another dead soldier...

aahhh, new years. usually not a huge deal to me. in years past i've sat at home, watching the ball drop-philosophically and really, other years i've worked long ugly shifts in shitty kitchens, cooking for idiot drunks who have had a way better time than i. well, this year, i still had to work but it is a job i love, with interesting people, and i finally got a really great new years kiss. from a GIRL even. it has been a good 3 years since i had any desire to celebrate..., well anything. and now i have two jobs, which i love both. i've been looking for these jobs since i was a kid. record store, and a nightclub. punk rock! i've got a great girl on my arm, whom i have been searching for for a very long time. and a set of really great friends, which seems to be growing all the time. celebration definately seems to be in order.
so have a happy new year to everyone i miss. i'll see you again. hopefully soon!

12.20.2004

my santa is sexy!

well, tis the friggen season. so far the tally is at:
3 pair white socks
3 pair misc. striped boxer shorts (for the roominess of them...)
kaada/patton- romances (AMAZING!)
a jake blues toy which is partner to thorens elwood blues toy
money!
and a great big tv!
blue bought me a friggen tv for x-mas. i really dig this girl. you'd think new relationship, variable interests. guys watch too damn much tv, i'd get a book or some smelly cologne. nope. a tv to watch stupid movies and play star wars on all dang night long. she's perfect for me.
watch out for the church of the jedi. it is coming. and i fear we may have a sith attack on said church if we're not careful. the light is the way. peace and serenity.
may the force be with you.

12.16.2004

the goods

okay, i really like my job at virgin. i got two free cd's yesterday. all cause the people who came in, bought stuff... don't ask me, thats how it was explained. anyway i got Kaada/Patton which is, to say the least AMAZING. the dude really can do no wrong in my book. and i picked up Metallica-Master of Puppets. cause its good, dammit! don't give me that look... it happens to be the best metallica album, and my true introduction to metal. so kiss my butt.
saw a guy the other day who had the "Innsmouth Look". for those of you who don't know h.p. lovecraft, the innsmouth look is a fishy/froggy look. you know, big bulging eyes, wide flat mouth. gray pallor, short and stocky. this guy stared at me and i stared back, and we were thinking the same thing, "he knows!"

12.12.2004

needy...

a list of things i am in the process of aquiring. unfinished.
1)a flashlight for security work at the club. good, solid, small and bright as hell to scare the crap out of drunks.
i will name it "TORTURE".
2)a television. i am currently using my roommates tv for my viewing pleasures. which gets in the way often, and he likes to bug me by playing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 on MY xbox, on his tv whilst i whine like a hungry kitten in the corner.
3)Boots. big black shiny mudhole stompers. i'd really like to have a pair of solid tank boots again, cause they are functionally easy as crap to put on, and they look groovy. i like straps... alas, it seems pretty effing hard to find the elusive tanker in this town at the moment, so i may just go for a good pair of construction boots. my widdle feeties are killing me...
4)Blacks. that would be the desired work uniform for the security dude at most of the clubs. dark, like the night. silent as a ninja, and high on red bull. black pants, black boots, black shirts. i have a bunch of black shirts, a good solid pair of ben davis black pants(comfy!), and a really rad jacket. so i don't really have to get this stuff, it would just be nice to have more...
5)more ink. (VERY IMPORTANT!) i have and addiction... i will have more tattoos soon. most of you out of state will be suprised when next we meet. i have a few connections in the area, so i am in the process of paring down the possible ink slingers. soon, my friends, soon. i will wear the dreaded Elder Sign to protect me from the great old ones. Nyarlithotep, beware...
more later when i have more time to think.
P.S.- hey OZEL! where precisely the fuck is my goddamn ZOMBIE TAT DESIGN!? come on man, i am FREAKING out...
one love

12.09.2004

task force...

so here i am at work. i decided i had to drop a line from the jobby job. i spent most of the goddamn day standing at the front door greeting people and checking random bags for non-reciept product, to which i of course found none. now, the deal is everybody gets door time for the first hour-hour and a half of thier shift, but oooohhh no, not when there's a new guy to take advantage of. so i have spent approximately 6-6 1/2 hours standing there. i got cooks knees, and their going out on me when i'm sitting at home anyway, this standing around crap ain't cutting it. but i will survive, knees intact hopefully, cause its a damn good job, and the crew i work with is killer cool. i just gotta get my sea legs. and maybe a walker. god i'm a baby...

12.08.2004

we don't need no stinking badges...

well, i finally did it. i got a job. actually i got two. in one day. both jobs i REALLY wanted. HA! moneymoneymoneymoneymoney... i am now at virgin megastore doing loss prevention aka security work, no badges or guns, but we do have handcuffs. and at Mezzanine, a local club of some repute. i'll be working friday night for the FATBOY SLIM show, and newyears eve 8pm till 8am. i can't wait. now i feel better. heh, now i have to go to work so i'll post more as it happens... oh and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 is RAD!
smootches!

12.04.2004

hi ho hi ho...

going to work tonight at cat club. doing trainwreck's job. stamping approval and allowing entrance. i keep hearing about all these jobs but thier all for random shit... security here, door work there, barbacking somewhere else... never steady. it is grating on me, amongst others. and i'm still waiting to hear from virgin. i hear tell they are going to hire me, but the big boss hasn't called me yet. i've sent out probably 15 resume's to various kitchens and stores over the last three days, and i've heard nothing back. i keep getting these random jobs, which by the way, no matter how much i bitch they're still the most fun i've had in a "work" environment in a LLLOOOONNNGGGG time, but all they seem to do is catch me up to some of my debt. phone bill, rent, food. that stuff. i'm really fucking sick of catching up. but hey, whatever can pay the bills, right? ren is working too much to work on any music right now, so the songs are on a backburner, which is good, cause i'm focusing on getting too much work. it usually works out that i have nothing for a while, them magically nine different places want me, so where are they...?
on a happy/pointy thingy note, we're going to help a young lady move into the fine burg here, and she sent us presents for the offer, brand spanking new knives! i have a kershaw Boa. made for my poor off handed brother lefties, it has a slight trigger in the back. see, most folding knives are made for you right handed control freaks, cause there are more of you, and you have the logic, whereas i am easily confused and tend to be startled by shiny things. ahh, the life of a southpaw...
ooh! and i got a sweet pair of old school puma's! they are rad! there was a big shoe fashion show thing at Mezzanine, one oh ren's 952 jobs, and he ghosted gibson and i into the festivities last night. t-shirts and shoes, and models everywhere, YAY! and peanut butter wolf spun wax. that's djing, mom. if you don't know who he is, you should look him up. a pert neet turntablist, if i do say so myself. also, looks like i may be working during fat boy slim, also at mezz, if they need the help, and new years eve. that'll go till 8 in the goddam morning though. guh. i like the clubs here, good, solid work and it's fun. the people who go out to the clubs... leave something to be desired. oh well, it's bread and butter for another week. or, burritoes and soda, anyway.
oh yeah, and spiderman 2 is RAD. but then, i like spies like us, so you probably should be careful with what i say...

12.01.2004

BACK TO THE BEACH WAS A RAD MOVIE...

i saw surfers the other day. real live, not on tv surfers. one of them was even surfing, sort of... i've never actually seen surfers other than in movies and espn specials. interesting.
here's a friggen list for ya, i got the itch.

people or things i have deified in my own little world:
Bill Hicks-Dark Prophet " its just a ride."
Marvin Gaye-Love uncompromised for the world around us.
Louie Armstrong-Voice of angels. and the 7th trumpet of the end.
HP Lovecraft-Seer into the abyss. Prophet of Doom
Clutch-Pure Rock Fury, the sound of existence
Quantum Physics-My religion of "Wha!?"
Tom Waits-What god will sound like when i meet it.
Mike Patton-a pantheon unto himself

and of course, Cthulhu. but we golf together, so i guess he's more like my friend...
awaiting instructions from on high,
