back in black...

hiya! yeah, its been awhile, but what can i say... i don't have a friggen computer, thats what i can say.
back in school, which is, to say the least... rad. i'm continuing my art class, cause its goddam fun, and taking a screenwriting class. its all for the digital multimedia future i see mapping itself ahead of me.
uh, hit splitsville with the lady, which ain't no damn fun, but things happen every day. things like this. to people like me. uuhhh..., yeah, anyway.
still working at both jobby jobs, and lovin' it. got some good shows coming up soon. dinosaur jr. is playing at my club, which is pretty cool, even though i never cared one way or the other for em. i guess i'm getting tame in my old age, if it ain't rap, i like the show. even a bunch of the rap shoiws have been great, i just don't dig on the crowd. e. g. o. and lots of it. ah well, i am security, and i'm pretty much there to crap on someones drunken revelry. at least it pays well...
other than that, not much. ma and pa vesh are coming down for a visit, which i cannot wait for that!!!! i miss my family way too much, and since i live in california, which is a wonderful state, i can't afford planes, trains, or automobiles. i can barely make back and forth between oakland and san francisco. much less out of state.
well, anyway, aftersaid tirade i will be trying to get out to see those of ya i made deals with. gib. sarah. sharona.
miss you all and love you much!

zero to thirty in.., holy shit I'M THIRTY!!!

well, my buddy jesse has been in town for the last week, and it has been friggen great! man did i miss that guy. he is one of my best friends. always has been, always will be. that is just how it goes... he left today to go back to seattle, and then if we're really lucky down here he'll be back soon..., for good. the thought has been kicked around so you never know... heh heh. anywho, other than that, its been work work work, and a little bit of playtime. i'm gonna go see wayne "the train" hancock again this tuesday night, which is always great, and working my but off to pay for this last week. not only did we have pretty much no shows, but i got time of from the cafe to hang with jess. which is fantastic, but now i'm broke. ah screwit! who needs it, anyway...?
oh yeah, and i turned thirty saturday night. all you wonderful folks who texted and called me, i love you with all my heart.
smootches!

6.05.2007

hello there...

well, i decided to go for a new look. so whattaya think? same great taste, just a different set of clothes.
uh, lets see, work is nuts, school is on summer break, and i'm going back at the end of august to my art class and a screen/stage writing class. that will be awesome. got some more ink, and will probably be getting even more next week. been watching a lot of venture brothers and samurai jack cartoons. they are so goddam amazing! i can't help swearing over it.
been listening to ween religiously lately. they're just so great! every single song is wonderful, like filling my ears and brain with cotton candy from another dimension. like a unicorn took a crap in my skull. and they have an e.p. coming out either this week or next week. goodly of them.
having a little bit of a reading freak out, trying to get through chuck palahniuks RANT, and johnathan hodgemans AREAS OF MY EXPERTISE, amongst about three other books. thats not including comics, graphic novels, or all the goddam movies i've seen lately... good god man. i'm a nut.
found a framed klimpt print in the trash the other day. gave it to amber cause she digs his artwork. i do too, but she is way more into it than i am. very weird to find it in the trash...
i'm gonna try to get at least two or three paintings done while i'm on summer break from school so that i can pretend i'm building a portfolio. no really, i am. seriously this time...

5.17.2007

i'm smart....

well, i aced my math class. now given its a basic math class, i'm not all freaking out happy, but i am proud of myself. i wasn't sure if i was gonna. i knew i wasn't going to fail it, but i figured a c or b at best. well, there you go. lets see what happens in my art class.
school is hard. along with working two jobs, there just ain't that much time for homework, but dammit, its gotta be done. i was up till 3 am studying for this math test, and trying to finish my final project for art. guh. i'm is tired.
my buddy jesse is going to come down thisaway from seattle in early july, and he'll be here for his and my birthdays. awesome! i haven't seen that boy in a little while. it will be great.
i got to see a great band at my work last week. I AM SPOONBENDER. wonderful. just a really great show. bought too much of thier stuff, and love it all.
other crazy changes in life that will be confered to those who need to know.
smootches!

kurt fucking russell

grindhouse is fucking amazing. i'd apologize for all the fucking swearing, but if you don't fucking like it, you probably shouldn't see the fucking movie. shit it's good. so goddam wonderful. and kurt fucking russell! holy crapola he's great! pustulating zombie sickos exploding all over the goddam place. rose mcgowan with a big fuck-all machine gun stick to her legless stump. and yes, cars. yum.

4.12.2007

so it goes...

my heart is broken.
in high school, i did a small voice job as the father of Harrison Bergeron. it was one of the most fun things i have ever done. being that it is, was, and probably always will be one of my favorite stories, i was very proud. well, the curtain has dropped on one of the greatest storytellers ever to grace us; Kurt Vonnegut Jr. i'm not exactly sure what he died of, but he was old and very sick. none-the-less, he will be missed by all of us, whether we know it or not. i'm gonna go get a copy of slaughterhouse-5 and reread it. and probably cry. a lot. on public transit. and then i will laugh. and get kicked of the bus. for being crazy.
and sad.

3.14.2007

developments...

well, lets see. new stuff happening. still working at the nightclub and cafe'. both most awesome. i moved into a new place. its in west oakland, also known as the GHETTO. its a very cool garage/warehouse space. i have my own room, there is a kitchen, bathroom, shower, and we're getting laundry hooked up soon. its on this little side street called athens. its about a block long. i live just a hop skip and a jump from downtown oak, and i've got about four friends living within a block or two. its a very cool space, and i got lots of room for painting and homework. ooh, and basic cable. yeah..., i know, its the spawn of the devil, its the brain destroyer and all that stuff, but it has mythbusters, ghost hunters, and the discovery channel so piss off. i'm still learning crap from it.
saw a GREAT country/bluegrass musician, Wayne "The Train" Hancock. this guy is amazing. its as if hank williams was right there. powerful good stuff.
also saw Fu Manchu at slims a couple of weeks ago. they're great. they've made the same album over and over for the last ten years, so you know what you're getting at thier show. my pal jonny and i were yelling out kyuss songs just to see if anyone would notice... they didn't.
clutch is coming to town which, hell or high water, i'm going to see. i missed thier last three shows because i'm a GOON. only work at the club will deter me from seeing them. because it pays more.
i got a digital camera recently, so i'm gonna try to post some picks if i can figure it out soon.
other than that, school is going good and i'm feeling smarter every day.
transmission over.

1.11.2007

ofelia

so... i went to see pans labyrinth the other night before work, and i gotta tell you, it put a whole new spin on my world. i see things a bit different lately. see the strange things waiting in the shadows for me to turn away. everything seems a bit more surreal. it is amazing. this is one of the best films i have seen in the last ten years. so wonderfully dark and poetic. very fairy tale creepy. awesome.
also, if you have netflix or a good rental place near you get "safe men" starring sam rockwell and steve zahn, holy crap is that movie funny. very cool. keep your eye on veal chop, thats all i got to say about that.
dom, out...

10.16.2006

you want it all, and you can't have it...

well, i got my glasses and they are very neat-o. if i don't already have a picture of them up on my moblog to the right there, i will soon. very art hipster, but still gggrrrrrr! punk enough for me. i'm confident in my hipsterlessness.
school is going great, beginning my paper here soon. and the class is not boring. though, i do most of the talking in the class... huh, who'da thought.
work at both jobs is going well, got a little raise at the cafe, and the club has got some good shows lined up. speaking of the club, i have to tell you all, i met one of my musical heroes on friday night. and the really creepy thing is... amber met him a week before that. mike patton was walking through the oakland airport, which is odd right there since he lives in SF. blue being the giant girl dork equivilant to myself, was listening to peeping tom, his newest band on her headphones. call it fate, call it kismet, call fanaticism, she ran through probably four people to get to him and let him know she was listening to him AT THAT VERY MOMENT! awesome. fast forward a week, i am doing my job keeping the sheep in the corral, the sheep being the rich white suburban kids whose parents never told them "no", and keeping an eye on the ever growing group of people climbing onto the stage. normally we don't allow that, but the dj was dragging up all the "cute" girls, i.e. the drunk sluts, and thier boyfriends were following along. (baa, baa...) well, i made my way back to the stage door to help clear some of the "refuse" away, and as i'm standing there, the man himself walks up. i take my chance, being very cool, and not at all letting on that i am pissing myself at that very moment, and say "hey mike. my girlfriend saw you at the oakland airport." which got a confused look as a reply. i mentioned she ran through a group of people and said she was listening to him then, and he remembered, very nicely i might add, the event. we carried on some small talk for a few minutes and then i mentioned that dan the automator was on stage hanging out with the dj, and led him up. guh.
the best part of the night may have been when one of our sheep decided to slap the dj from the dance floor right in front of me, to which i calmly headlocked the dipshit and carried him out. as i was moving away from the stage i glanced back, hoping said dipshit wouldn't have any friends to accost me, when i noticed mike patton leaning over, watching me drag dumy off. heh.
good times.

9.20.2006

my otchkies! (read clockwork orange, you might get it...)

well, i'm off to get some much needed new glasses. on tuesday i will go to costco, cause my girl is rad, and get the cheapo eye exam and hopefully the full on specs. i already picked out a pair of frames that are, to say the least... awesome.
we have a bunch of good shows coming up at the club, KMFDM as was already stated, method man, dr. octagon(aka kool kieth, who has already played here once before... also awesome.), a quanuum show, dj krush, madlib and peanut butter wolf, kid koala and fog, and the english beat. all good, good fun.
saw a band called TH' LEGENDARY SHACK SHAKERS. wow! so friggen good. rockabilly/psychobilly bluegrass. so damn amazing. if you like that kinda stuff at all-i recomend them highly. especially you OZEL. trust a brother.
world war z is out. for those of you that don't know, a guy who happens to be mel brooks son wrote a book called the zombie survival guide. its real good. well, he just put out "part 2" if you will. the next literary step, accounts from around the world of the zombie plague war. guh. i don't have it yet because A) i'm poor, and B) i have too much crap to read for school. so when i finally do get to read it, i will probably pee a little with enjoyment.
so there you go.
bush is the devil.
love ya!

9.06.2006

boogely... wait for it...

okay... lets see, school has officially started and i am being surrogate smart by way of my wonderful girlfriend and am only taking one class. english since i'm pretty good at it. and it is pretty interesting. reading about education and the class system. class system as in "Middle class/upper class". yowza. i already read most of one of the books, nickel and dimed, and didn't think it was that great, but i never finished it, so i guess i'll just have to be really specific when i pan it for class.
went on a much needed constitutional with blue. the circumstances weren't great, but getting out of dodge for a couple days was awesome. saw beaches and endless ocean. i know it doesn't seem that special to byou learned folks out there, but i grew up in minnesota, where you could see the other side of the largish body of water. not so much with the PACIFIC OCEAN. it is very cool, and a little itimidating. but in a good way.
started netflix. awesome is all i can say. i'm going to go on a deadwood freak out here in a few days. lots of good movies. yum.
ooh, and KMFDM is going to be playing at my club. i get to work that show. fun! i likee them pretty much alotness.
got some new boots, still need new glasses. soon i pray at night. soon.
other than that, you nuts will just have to wait and see. like me.
smootches!

6.07.2006

film...

the davinci code movie sucks. not worth it at all. although the book was mild at best, i already knew all of that crap before i read it. the proposition is awesome though. it was written by nick cave, and he did the music for it too. neat o. i hear the omen is crap also so i'm not even going to try. i'll just get the original and watch that twice.
lovins!

3.23.2006

shakin' it down like james brown...

i'm back! i got a new phone thungy, and it has a camera. so i am using the moblog again. check check check check it out, y'all. so yeah, lookee lookee. tell me what you think. lots of pics of me in oakland and san fran and other crappy places.

3.10.2006

2.10.2006

actual sounds and voices

hhhhhmmmm..., well to start off, i am still alive and doing pretty good besides. stiil working on getting that second job, but i am surviving alright. playing a lot of ninja gaiden from the xbox. addictive...
oohh!!! hey daniel, i just worked the meat beat manifesto show. they played our club, i got a shirt, and a free cd from their live show in chicago last year. RADNESS!
anywho, i cut off my chicken hawk. it was getting scraggly and i wa sick of it. this is the shortest my hair has ever been. its like, 1/8th of an inch.
yowza.
much love!

1.14.2006

ah-choo!

real quick...
the cat is rad and cute. her name is mei mei. thats chinese for little sister. she loves being inder the bed and in the closet.
the movie HOSTEL sucks ass. its dumb, don't see it.
that'll do.

1.05.2006

am i jumping all namby pamby from tree to tree..?

well boys and girls, the rumors are true. i am actually into the idea of getting a cat. i know, i know, "you're allergic, you hate them with an unreasoning passion, you think they have serious personality issues worse than most of your weirdo friends..." well, maybe i'm getting calmer in my old age, or perhaps just more complacent. either way i really do like the idea of having a cat around. blue and i have already gone over the whole thing with a fine toothed comb. she was very scared that i was just doing it to make her happy, but i want a pet. and dogs are not great in the apartment we have. we want to find a house to rent, but thats gonna take some time, and cats are easy, not only because she pretty much wants to do everything that owning a cat entails, but they are very independent. and i have lived with cats before, it sucks for the first month or two, but my body does get used to it. hell, the last cat i lived with was long haired and it ripped up the back of my neck whilst i slept. and you wonder why i didn't like them much...
so for all you friends and loved ones out there worried, don't. i want the fuzzy little bugger around. i have met some rad cats. and that is what we're gonna try to find.
onto other news...
i am stating this now. i am no longer going to consume fast food. the shit is disgusting. and yes, i did just watch super size me. barf. no more mickey-d's or wendy's or carls junior or, god help me, in and out burger. ouch. man thats gonna suck just for the in and out burger... but the shit is bad for you, and i'm done with it. i'm trying to eat better. more salad, less crap, but i just love the crap so gorram much! but i gotta do it or i'll die of a fat heart at 50, and that ain't cool, man. blue is helping, she's definately got her eye on me, and pulls no punches in telling how crappy my food intake. i need that. badly. i still drink WAAAY too much soda, and eat WAAAY too much sugar, but i am looking at veggies as less than disgusting. which is pretty new for me. hell, i ate asparagus a couple of weeks ago... AND LIKED IT!
so, to recap, more cats, less crap food. seems like a good trade off to me. what do you think..?

12.19.2005

magilla gorilla

well, i saw king kong. holy crap it was good. the most amazing use of cgi i have ever seen. and the story, acting, direction, editing, and every other goddam thing about it was not only rad but powerful. its a really great film, folks. narnia on the other hand is good. just good. worth a matinee, not much more. thank you disney, again, for f$#%ing up another beautiful classic with your christian, happy crappy bullshit. the captain of the secret police is named FENRIS. as in the norse diety, not Maugrim. cool name, but this guy already had a cool name in the book. there was other stuff, but i don't want to mess up the story for anybody...
on to real life, i am now working at EB games. its cheap, but really easy. and since you all know i just got a 360, it'll make it easier to afford those 60 dollar games they're making.
also, it looks as if we at the club are finally getting our security jobs back. for those of you who didn'r know, the club owner hired on a private security company because he just sewed up a large lawsuit from a couple of years ago. for the sake of insurance we were asked to dig for some other work around the club. i have been given the temporary position of assistant house manager. cool, but no big pay raise, i helped in the coat check, and was going to get some cashier work out of it. now the small private security company I work for is getting hired whilst the other company, who SUCK!, are getting the boot. today, as a matter of fact. yay for me! and i not only get my happy kicking drunks out job back, but i get a raise, too! awesome.
well, that is that as they say.
smootches, happy yule, and happy birthday imaginary diety guy!

11.18.2005

okay, i just peed a little...

yeah! i just won an xbox 360! no poo. i randomly entered this contest and won! holy crap! i'm freaking out a little. it's a neat site, like myspacce, but for video game geeks. some dude told me about it, so i thought i'd check it out. raddness. i gotta sign some paper work and it'll be shipped to me around the 22nd. word!
lessee..., oh! my wonderful friends daniel and ilona are getting married! awesomness personified. congrats to you guys, i love ya!
punk rock orchestra tomarrow night at the club i work, cool. and princess superstar is playing in dec. groovy fun. one of my favorite hip hop groups played the club, the almighty shape shifters, and it was rad. they are good, cool people. well, akuma and die young are they oly two who could make it, but THEY were cool. other than that just loving life.
word to my peeps!

10.30.2005

most definately...

hi! remember me...? well, mos def is playing tonight at my club. he also played last night and the show was rad. not too much trouble. hopefully the same will fare for tonight. ooh! and the shape shifters are playing next month. word!!!! other than that, my girl got the dream job at berkeley so she'll be heading to the optometry library soon. cool stuff. well, i'm off to set up for the big hip hop show we're about to have, wish me luck!
